I like to have the biggest toolbox possible.  All of the following techniques are part of my practice:

My massage practice is currently full, so I’m not accepting new clients, with some exceptions for gift certificates.

My style is a flowing deep tissue with Reiki, incorporating many aspects of graceful, loving Hawai’ian Lomi Lomi massage, which I admire greatly for the ability to work deeply while remaining gentle, as well as Medical Massage techniques from the more technical end of the spectrum.

Cranio-Sacral Therapy
Rooted in Osteopathic medicine, this still, quiet technique releases restrictions and encourages optimal flow for your nervous system. Decompressing the structures of the head and spine allows better circulation of cerebro-spinal fluid, which frees your central nervous system to re-establish the good communication necessary to take care of every part of your body.

It’s particularly helpful for head and neck injuries, whiplash, pelvic and lower back pain, dizziness and ear problems, headaches, anxiety, and physical and emotional trauma. However, because it works removing obstacles that keep the body from healing itself, unexpected healing happens in cranial work.  It’s an excellent modality for both treatment of illness, and preventative wellness. Most people find sessions deeply relaxing. This therapy is typically received with clothes on, although it can be integrated into a massage session as well.

Body Code & Emotion Code
Developed by Dr. Bradley Nelson, this technique uses applied kinesiology (muscle testing) to identify and release blockages of all kinds from your body. It is based on the premise that your emotional baggage literally weighs you down, and with simple, non-invasive techniques utilizing gentle stimulation of meridians, those blocks can be cleared and your ability to heal can be bolstered and restored. This is an excellent complementary technique for all kinds of health troubles, as well as an effective and fascinating preventative. I combine it with Reiki and medical Qi Gong to make sessions more efficient and relaxing, and sessions typically include intuitive insights and the opportunity to ask for clairvoyant information. You may be interested in learning how to do this as self-care at home, as well, and are welcome to have sessions devoted to tutoring

A subtle energy healing tradition from Japan, Reiki promotes relaxation, healing, and understanding. The word could be translated to mean “Divine Life Force Energy,” and treatments feel like a glowing, peaceful radiance all around you. Reiki been respected in Japan for decades, where studies have shown it to be effective for all living beings, even plants. Clairvoyant insights and “homework assignments” appear during these sessions, and I am always happy to share these if you are interested. Like cranio-sacral therapy, it is typically received clothed, although it is also part of all my massage and Body Code sessions. I am a Reiki Master, or teacher-level practitioner, in the Usui tradition.

Zero Balancing & Polarity Therapy
I am currently in certification programs for both of these holistic wellness techniques, which are incredible for increasing vitality. Let me know if you’re the kind of person who likes to be experimented on.

And Other Things
There are many other techniques and traditions that make up my approach that came in on the coattails of something else. My cranio-sacral therapy teacher, the amazing Ursula Popp, is also an acupuncturist in the Five Elements Chinese Medicine tradition, so acupressure, energy meridians and elemental balance is part of how I see health. My reiki mentor, the equally amazing Jennifer Nevy, also incorporates Shamanism, the chiropractic-inspired energetic techniques of Natural Force Healing, sound healing, aromatherapy, Hands of Light, and many other teachings, which I have found very helpful. I draw on my long-term Ashtanga and Hatha Yoga practice, Vipassana meditation, and worldwide travel, as well as my fascinations with evolutionary biology, nutrition, herbal medicine, chiropractic care, strength training, psychology, sociology, anti-oppression, and art. Some of these I incorporate directly, others I recommend investigating with other talented specialists. The priority is always finding what is best for you and building on your network of resources for healing.

At the time you see me, what seems best for that day could be anything. All of the techniques I use can be integrated into a therapeutic appointment to create a session that works for your unique situation. If you’re feeling drawn to try a lot of things, I recommend a 90-minute or 2-hour session to fully delve into each approach. An hour is also fine, but not long enough for both a full-body massage and deep cranial or energy work.

Two hour sessions are available, but the maximum massage time in those sessions is 90 minutes.
